Dear Kifli:
Thank you for writing about my Encyclopedia of the Kifli (Malaysian) Language, Illustrated. You have really inspired me to want to learn as much as I can about Malaysia and your native Malay language.
I must admit that when I first visited your blog I had never seen Malay written before. But your writing seemed so lyrical and the photographs of yourself and others, and of your country, seemed so inviting that I feel compelled to learn more.
I had to do a bit of research to learn what language your blog is written in, and now I am working on learning your language, one word, phrase and concept at a time. As I learn new words and phrases, I post them at my blog, along with citations to Malay language websites and blogs where those words, phrases and concepts are used.
I was very when the Encyclopedia had its first Malaysian visitor, Amir, of the "Writing By Amir" blog, and author of "Malaysian Politicians Say the Darndest Things." I am inspired by the tremendous creativity of the Malaysian blogs I have found!
I want to thank your reader, Xis, who posted a correction at the Encyclopedia, informing me that the correct translation of the word "Tahun" is "Year." Based on his contribution, I was able to correct the text of the blog.
As I post words and phrases at my "Encyclopedia of the Kifli Language, Illustrated," I welcome and request that readers comment on what I have written, sharing their experiences with the places and concepts mentioned, and correcting anything that is out of order. In fact, I would welcome additional participants at the blog who might want to help me flesh out the vocabulary, and what is really a learning project about Malaysia, its institutions, culture and its people.
If I could, I would learn Malay and continue this Encyclopedia in Malaysia itself, in the bosom of your country, however, I am very far away, living in Brazil.
Someday, I hope I will be able to comment at your blog and those of Xis and Amir, writing in Malay.

Kiff and whoever, i can understand as human being, who doesnt like adoration. If you may notice, human being biggest weaknest is when the feel that they are being adored. They easily feel elated until their feet is not in the ground. Floating. Do more research and study properly. I don't know why, but i smell a rat. You are not the only one person write in Bahasa Malaysia. Many more. Not the best neither the worse. Why you? Think and analyse. You are smart. But must keep focus.
The Monk

Twelve years ago, I saw an article in a foreign language about a television anchor by the name of Kifli Bujang. I didn't know what language it was, but I wanted to try to understand the language by learning to read it, but without textbooks, dictionaries or any other help. I wanted to learn by immersion in articles written in the language.
Not knowing what language it was, I started a blog and named it *and the language* after the television anchor. Thus began my blog, "Illustrated Encyclopedia of the Kifli Language".
It didn't take long for native speakers of " the Kifli Language" to visit my blog and tell me that I was a silly fool, that the language I was trying to learn was called "Malay", otherwise known as "Bahasa", from Malaysia.
I didn't mind being foolish if I learned some of a new language and met new people in the process.
It was 2007 then and I soon became engrossed in the campaign to elect the first Black president of the USA, President Barack Obama.
My hero, Kifli Bujang, who inspired me to learn bahasa Malay, wrote about my "Kifli Language" blog at his blog, but I only noticed it just now, via googling, twelve years later.
I would still love to visit Malaysia and meet Kifli Bujang and many Malaysians one day, and learn to speak with him in his native bahasa Malay.
